JMJC Boys win 4 Jr. Pan Am Medals

Colorado Springs, CO - Members from the Glenville, NY based Jason Morris Judo Center (JMJC) took four total medals including one gold at the Jr. Pan Am Championships held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs over the weekend. Burnt Hills High Sophomore, Kyle Vashkulat (15) led the way posting a 3-0 record including a dramatic win in the final over favorite Tales De Camargo (Brazil) to win the 15-16yrs. 90kg division. Vashkulat's performance earned him the "Most Outstanding Male Player" award for the event. Burnt Hills High Junior, Jeremy Liggett (17) put up a 3-1 mark to take a bronze in the 17-19yrs. 60kg weight class. Burnt Hills High Senior, AJ Silverman (18) also had a 3-1 record to win a bronze in the 17-19yrs. 66kg category. Silverman avenged a loss he had in last summer's Jr. US Open final by slamming Armando Ortiz (Mexico) to capture the bronze. Albany State Freshman, Yuko Sin (18) closed out the JMJC's medal count by claiming a bronze in the 17-19yrs. 81kg division.
