Kossor Wins Gold

 

         Chicago, IL - Schenectady Community College Sophomore, Nick Kossor (20) from the Glenville, NY based Jason Morris Judo Center (JMJC) posted a 4-0 record to take the 60kg title at the Midwest Judo Championships over the weekend. This marks Kossor's first event since injuring his knee in April of 2005, which required reconstructive surgery. Kossor is now ranked #7 in the US at 60kg. Burnt Hills High School Senoir, AJ Silverman (18) impressively went 4-2 at 66kg to place fourth just missing out of being on the podium. Silverman lost both his matches US #5 ranked, Josh O'Neil from the Olympic training center (OTC) in Colorado Springs, CO. Kossor and Silverman will join JMJC teammates, Nick Delpopolo (17), Jeremy Liggett (16), Jemaine Jarvis (16), Yuko Sin (18) and Kyle Vashkulat (15) to compete this saturday, March 18 at the New York Open which will be held at the historic  New York Athletic Club (NYAC).
